Dear Helen,
A very big ‘Thank you’ to you and all the teachers and helpers at OFP.
Sam and
I really appreciate your guidance and kindness that you have shown
to Shannon and Shanice.
Over the years, they have really grown.
They have became very independent and are able to take care of themselves and others,
one of the things that they have learnt from OPF.
Shannon has done very well in her Primary One, socially and academically.
She was able to mix around with her classmates and schoolmates very well.
Even on the first day of Primary One, she was mentally well-prepared and no crying at all.
She was even buying food on her own during recess time.
Shannon was chosen to be one of the presenters for her school Opening Ceremony in October.
She was also the best dancer in her class for the
Tambourine Dance and has shown great confidence
during their Speech and
Drama performance. All these were the ‘results’ of the positive teaching at OPF.
Until today, Shannon still enjoys going back to OFP
during her school holidays.
She loves seeing her juniors and talking to
the teachers.
Sam and I are confident that she will continue to
grow and excel.
And that goes the same for Shanice in two years’ time.

When I went about to look for a child
care centre for my kids, I have specific requirements in mind.
Firstly,
it must allow the kids to learn through play and NOT through
worksheets.
There must not be any homework as I know the stress will
come in primary schools and
I do not want to start that too early.
The
centre must also allow the kids to develop holistically. An IN word but
simply put,
it must develop the characters. I strongly believes
that the first few years will set the foundation and
path of the kids’
characters. To me, it is much more important than learning formal
academics subjects.
I researched around and
compare the “government” ones with the private ones.
Eventually, my
wife and I chose OFP. We hope that it matches with our objectives. And
yes indeed it has!
And well exceeded our expectation.
Our
kids have lots of fun in OFP and they enjoyed their childhood
tremendously.
Amid this enjoyment, they have learnt, developed and
grown to be very loveable kids. Our kids are now confident,
able to
differentiate right from wrong, able to understand the requirement of
proper behavior and importantly
behave properly, at least most of the
time (kids are still kids). They are not pampered and are independent.
Having
said the above, OFP has also developed their academic skill.
Phonics,
hanyu pinyin, reading, writing and simple mathematics are not a
problem.
My kids have no problem adapting to primary schools after
leaving OFP.
Their school results are also acceptable to me.
Other
salient good points of OFP are no aircon (less subjected to spread of
virus),
no TV & computer (too much at home already) and good
parental support. In fact, anyone will be surprised
at the amount of
work that parents volunteer in OFP. There is in fact an OFP alumni! I
guess it is one of its kind.
My kids now still go back to OFP during
school holidays. Besides spending quality time there, they also learned
to look after the younger ones and learned more about responsibilities.
I do not think any other more “established” child care centre will
allow this.
That is another great thing about OFP.

I'm really thankful to have found my ideal childcare partner in OFP. My kids
picked up language, social & more importantly, life skills in a nurturing &
caring environment. I have also learnt how to be a better parent through
the various parenting seminars. Helen has a great team!
